EDUCATION, LICENSES AND EXPERIENCE OF STAFF AND CONSULTANTS:

ARCHITECT: Zack Mobley AIA,

Arkansas Architectural License #2890


Zack Mobley AIA, Principal, is a Batesville native. He holds a B.A. in visual arts from Davidson College (1972), and a B.Architecture from the University of Idaho (1979). He has been a licensed architect since 1983 and is currently licensed in Arkansas and Colorado. He is certified by the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards (N.C.A.R.B.), and is a member of the American Institute of Architects. He worked several years for firms in the Denver, Colorado area, finishing there as Staff Architect for the Metal Stud Forming Corporation. He lived and worked in Japan, and then returned to Batesville in 1995 to open his own firm. He has completed a number of building designs in the area as listed in the PROJECTS LIST page of the website.


CONSULTANT: Mike Sharp


Mike Sharp, has worked with Mobley since 1998 after seventeen years as a Sales Engineer for M & A Jones, Construction, Inc., Batesville. At Jones, he handled sales, design, estimating and drafting, with related field supervision as required to complete jobs. His specialty was metal building construction and design/build projects. With support from the owner, he put together cost estimates and preliminary designs; then contracts or proposals, then with a signed contract he produced all construction plans and acted as a liason between the client and company.


MECHANICAL ENGINEER:   Stephen G. Case, P.E.

Steve Case is a resident of Batesville. He is an honors  graduate of Mississippi State University (1978) with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering. He has been in private practice since 1996, and has been a practicing engineer since 1979, ending as the technical associate responsible for utilities for Future Fuels, Batesville, Arkansas.  His specialties in HVAC design – include providing heating, cooling, & ventilation calculations, layout, duct sizing, equipment schedules, mechanical notes, attic ventilation, mechanical budget estimates, mechanical specifications, natural gas pipe/plumbing design, and site inspections. He is a member of ASHRAE and ASME. He just recently attended an ASHRAE seminar that reviewed the new 2003 Arkansas Mechanical Code.


STRUCTURAL ENGINEER:   Shannon D. Hopkins, P.E.

Arkansas Structural Engineering License #10640


Shannon Hopkins is a cum laude graduate of the University of Missouri at Rolla (1991) with a B.S. in Civil Engineering. He is licensed as both a structural and civil engineer.He has been in private practice since 2001, and has been a practicing engineer since 1991.  His specialties are; structural steel and re-inforced concrete design for building structures, potable water management system design, subdivision and land development, and structural inspection services. He is proficient with most commonly used structural and hydrological design computer programs. Hopkins attended the I.B.C. 2003 training course in December of 2003.


ELECTRICAL ENGINEER:   Wesley Blake Watkins, P.E.

Blake Watkins is a resident of Batesville. He is an honors graduate of the University of Arkansas  with a B.S. in Electrical Engineering (1980) and an M.S. in Engineering (1981). He has been in private practice since 1996, and has been a practicing engineer since 1981. During his career in industry he served as manager of Engineering and as the Principal Engineer responsible for Information Technology for Arkansas Eastman, Batesville, Arkansas, a position he left in 2001 to pursue private practice.  His specialties in electrical design include lighting, power, computer systems, alarm systems, schedules, electrical notes, budget estimates, electrical specifications, control systems, motors, programmable controllers and site inspections. He is certified by the Association of Construction Inspectors, though is not currently a member.
